Bad Wolf has completed production on the three-part Christmas special of 'The Other Bennet Sister' in Wales. The series follows Mary Bennet, a character often overlooked in Jane Austen's 1813 novel, as she navigates the adjustments of married life. New first-look images show Ella Bruccoleri's character settling into her role as Mrs. Hayward alongside husband Tom Hayward, played by Dónal Finn.

The narrative focuses on the shift in identity that accompanies marriage. The official synopsis asks who Mary will become in this new capacity. It notes that an unexpected visitor from her past arrives at her door, requiring her assistance. This plotline serves as the central conflict for the upcoming episodes.

Ruth Jones, Tanya Reynolds, Laurie Davidson, Poppy Gilbert, Maddie Close, Grace Hogg-Robinson, and Molly Wright all return to their original roles. Nerys Amber Stocks joins the cast as Lucy, the housekeeper for the Hayward household. The production team remains consistent with the initial season, with screenwriter Sarah Quintrell writing all three episodes. Asim Abbasi directs the special.

The first season achieved strong viewership numbers after its March premiere. It became the largest new drama launch in the U.K. across streaming platforms since the previous March. Data shows 6.5 million people watched the show within the first 28 days. Episode 1 has since reached 9.5 million viewers. The title also set records on BritBox, attracting five times more new subscribers than any prior launch. It recorded the highest streaming rate for any title debut on that service.

The special is set to air in the United States and Canada on BritBox. In the U.K., it will broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC One. A specific release date has not yet been announced by the production company or the networks.
