Voters in South Mississippi will cast ballots Tuesday, November 3, in a general election that features a six-candidate race for the state's U.S. Senate seat. The contest includes Republican Cindy Hyde Smith, Democrat Scott Colom, and independent Ty Pinkins.

Residents also have the opportunity to vote for a representative in the Fourth Congressional District. That race features Republican Mike Ezell, Democrat Jeffrey Hulum III, and independent Carl Boyanton.

Local judicial and school board elections are on the ballot in Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, Stone, and Pearl River counties. In Harrison County, voters will choose a judge for Chancery Court, District 8, Place 4, from among Haley Necaise Broom, Stephen J. Maggio, and Francis Yeatts. The same three candidates appear on the ballot for that specific judicial position in Hancock County.

Hancock County voters will also select a sheriff from a field of seven candidates: Tommy Bethea, Jace Favre, Kyle Malley, Eddie Peterson, Channing Reynolds, Michael Seal, and Josh Stroud. The county also holds a bond referendum for the Bay Waveland School District.

In Jackson County, voters face choices for Chancery Court, District 16, Place 1, and two seats on the Circuit Court for District 19. Candidates for the Chancery Court seat include D. Neil Harris Sr., Jennifer Sekul Harris, and Matthew Paul Pavlov. The first Circuit Court seat is contested by Matthew Lachaussee and Justin Lovorn, while the second seat is contested by Kathy King Jackson and Leilani Tynes.

Stone County voters will choose between George Schmidt, John D. Smallwood, and Zachary Monroe Vaughan for Chancery Court, District 13, Place 2. They will also vote on two school board seats. Pearl River County voters will select a Circuit Court judge for District 15, Place 2, from Ryan Bruhl and Prentiss G. Harrell. Five separate school board seats are up for election in Poplarville.

Pearl River County also holds two referendums regarding alcohol sales. One concerns general alcohol liquors, while the other addresses beer and wine sales. Polls for all these races and measures open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
