The Dripping Springs Community Foundation has funded 122 local projects since its founding in 1999. Over that span, the organization has provided financial support to 52 distinct nonprofits in the area.
Residents established the foundation in 1999 to address local needs, according to its website. It operates two grant cycles annually, distributing funds to multiple projects in each period. In its most recent round of funding, the organization supported specific initiatives including the Dorian Zev Kweller Memorial Skatepark and Lonestar Outreach to Place Ex-Racers. It also backed DSTX Together, a group that surveys residents to identify community priorities.
President Chris Marcum stated that the foundation aims to invest in the community over time rather than compete with other nonprofits serving specific clientele. He described the DSTX Cares Project as having great promise for inventorying what is important for the long term. Marcum noted that the town is growing rapidly and that the goal is to continue building the community together as one.
The foundation has marked 26 years of service since its inception. Beyond direct grants, the organization accepts donations to an undesignated fund. Individuals can also browse the foundation's nonprofit directory to donate directly to specific supported organizations.
Those interested in joining the board of directors can reach out via email. The foundation continues its work through its regular grant cycles and community engagement efforts.
