President Donald Trump stood by the newly restored Reflecting Pool on Monday, declaring the water feature better and more beautiful than it has ever been. The visit served as his final public appearance before Tuesday's midterm elections, a day when Americans will decide which party controls Congress for the next two years.

The president credited the Interior Department for the months-long repair project. He maintained that vandalism had been a factor in the pool's previous condition. "The people from Interior have been incredible," Trump said. "And the pool is now better and more beautiful than it's ever been before. And we're very proud of it."

In his closing address to voters, the president characterized the upcoming vote as the most important midterm in American history. He described the Democratic nominees as the most extreme and dangerous slate of candidates in the country's history. "These are the most dangerous candidates ever put up," he stated.

Pollsters indicate that the high cost of living is the top concern for voters this cycle. Trump did not address that specific issue during his remarks at the Reflecting Pool. Instead, he highlighted what he described as a strong and resilient U.S. economy.

Historical data shows that the party in power typically loses seats during midterm elections. Republicans hold a razor-thin majority in Congress and hope to defy that trend. Final polls point to significant Democratic success in the 2026 elections.

The president concluded his campaign trail after nearly 30 rallies. He traveled from the White House to the Lincoln Memorial for the visit. The event marked the end of his active campaigning for the cycle.
