Ric Flair responded to questions about his survival following a recent fall by listing the severe physical traumas he has survived throughout his career. The 77-year-old shared a post on X on Friday to address what he described as a recurring inquiry from the public regarding his health status.
Flair was hospitalized in Florida late last month after falling outside a bar in Tampa. The incident caused facial injuries and a possible concussion. He was later photographed wearing an eye patch over his right eye, which drew immediate attention from fans and media outlets.
In his social media update, the 16-time WWE champion detailed his history of extreme physical events. He noted that he wrestled 5,000 matches, including 2,400 one-hour draws and five 90-minute bouts. He also referenced a 24-hour trip to Japan where he performed three one-hour matches.
The wrestler highlighted his survival of a 1975 plane crash that resulted in 31 days in the ICU and 14 days on life support. He added that he spent 35 days in rehabilitation following that incident. He also recalled being struck by lightning and suffering a heart attack during his final match in 2022.
Flair mentioned that a near-death experience in 2017 involved ruptured intestines. He has also spoken about blood clot issues that now limit his travel to periods of four hours or less. Despite these ongoing medical challenges, he continued his active lifestyle.
The wrestler concluded his post by questioning the level of worry his recent fall generated. He wrote, "And You Are Worried About Me Falling Down And Hitting My Eye? WTF." The statement followed his recovery from the Tampa incident and his return to public view.
