Gold House launched the Gold Stack Shorts Fund on Friday night at The Majestic Downtown in Los Angeles. The event marked the group’s largest Gold Diwali gathering to date. The organization works to support and celebrate the Asian Pacific community.

The fund is a partnership with South Stack Studios. It will provide backing for proof-of-concept shorts and micro-series based on South Asian stories. Creators can submit their pitches through Nov. 30. Gold House will announce the selected projects on Jan. 10, ahead of the Sundance Film Festival.

The evening opened with the arrival of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. Both actors star in the upcoming film “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend,” which opens worldwide on Nov. 5. The movie is based on the ancient epic. Gold House described it as the biggest film ever produced out of India. Filmmakers Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra were also present at the venue.

Bing Chen, executive chair and CEO of Gold House, spoke to the crowd about the organization’s goals. “Diwali is a celebration of light, community and connection, and we wanted to bring that spirit to our Gold Diwali while honoring how culture shapes who we are and the possibilities we create,” Chen said. He noted that the event honors creators and founders who build over long periods of time.

The guest list included industry figures such as Tan France, Freida Pinto, and Blumhouse president Abhijay Prakash. Poshmark chairman Manish Chandra and McKinsey’s global head of TMT and consumer technology, Kabir Ahuja, also co-hosted the night. Indian luxury designer Anita Dongre debuted a hand-painted carrom board created in collaboration with Gold House. The event also featured the Cuyana x Gold House Marigold Charm, a limited-edition piece released earlier in October.

Rasoi Catering served regional South Asian dishes while a dedicated lounge hosted carrom games. DJ MissNinja performed alongside KVS Tabla, a musical act that blends tabla with electronic styles. Bhindi Jewelers hosted a jewelry display, and the dating app Dil Mil sponsored a portrait station produced by The Lounge Booth. Smartwater, Glance, McKinsey & Company, and Google’s 100 Zeros also supported the event, which was produced by BMF Productions.

The party took place a week before the global release of “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.” Diwali falls on Nov. 8 this year. The event follows the recent rollout of Gold House’s Diwali Cultural Guide.
