Anderson .Paak and Cordae released a collaborative album called Heavy Is The Crown, and to promote it the two artists toured a series of pop-up shops where fans could buy merchandise, pick up exclusive vinyl editions and get items signed during meet-and-greet sessions.

The run moved through Los Angeles, London, San Francisco and Chicago, and included a Fatburger block party in West Hollywood. The final stop landed in New York City as the sun set along East 14th Street, where the pair arrived on wheels to a crowd that had gathered to wait. Anderson .Paak and Cordae then performed for people on the street, waving to the audience from a moving vehicle while attendees raised phones to record the scene.

The performance included "A Good Day," the lead single from the album. The track samples Bill Withers' 1977 hit "Lovely Day" and takes its title from Ice Cube's 1993 song "It Was A Good Day." The album is available on vinyl and streaming services.

After the street set, the two met fans who had been waiting since noon or earlier. On-site sales included a hoodie, two t-shirts, a set of drumsticks and vinyl copies of the album, with autographing opportunities available for those purchases.

The New York City stop closed the multi-city pop-up tour.

Hip-Hop History Month begins as the tour ends, and the evening's performance took place as commuter traffic moved along East 14th Street.
